Pic Macaya National Park

Pic Macaya National Park is one of only a few remaining natural forests in Haiti.  Pic Macaya National Park is located in the massif de la Hotte Mountain Range in the southern peninsula of Haiti.

as quoted from worldwildlife.org:

Pic Macaya National Park, Haiti - Protecting natural habitats and providing technical assistance on sustainable development.

In 1993, USAID/Haiti requested BSP's help in providing technical assistance on sustainable development activities to local communities residing in the buffer zone of Pic Macaya National Park, the highest mountain peak in the southwest peninsula, while protecting the remaining natural habitat from further degradation and encroachment.

BSP trained staff from UNICORS, the local organization contracted by USAID/Haiti, in best practices for implementing sustainable development activities in the region. Also, The Centre de Formation et d'Encadrement Technique (CFET) produced a training manual, "Management of Protected Areas in Haiti," for the Haitian park staff and a video (in Creole and English), highlighting the biological importance of Park Macaya and USAID's efforts to conserve the park.

Why you cannot visit haiti

You cannot visit your own country because you are AFFRAID to die.

Fear is a funny thing.

we are so confortable in the neighbor's house that we don't even care to fix the roof in our own house.

I don't want to hear that you cannot visit your own country.

You can say it ONLY if you admit that you are affraid.

Chicken!
