 In order to protect the Port-au-Prince and the Cul-de-Sac, two forts were built on top of the mountains near boutilier:
Mounted on Fort Jacques are original French and English guns from the late 1700's. Each gun is inscribed with the name of the corresponding king.
Fort Alexandre, the twin battery to Fort Jacques was never finished.
